Did you know about the Good Food Box? What a great way to have fresh fruit and vegies. The Good Food Box is a Community Kitchen program that allows Bownesians to puchase fresh fruit and vegetables for less. Orders are taken and delivered once a month to the Community Hall for pick up between 10am and 4 pm. 7904 43 Ave. NW Boxes are availabe in 3 different sizes $20 for 20lbs, $25 for 30lbs $30 for 40lbs.  Got a prom dress sitting in your closet? Yah me too.
Bowness Library is now collecting geNtly used prom dresses for their PROM DRESS EXTRAVAGANZA on March 3. This event helps youth celebrate their grand achievement in style by making sure that every girl gets the right dress. Volunteers will be on hand to help with fittings plus a designer to help the girls remake or alter the dress. For further details, contact Bowness Library at 403-260-2620.

So do a girl a favour and donate those dresses; your closet will thank you.

The Artin’ Out After-school Art Program provides a learning environment that cultivates children’s freedom to express themselves through the experience of creating works of art. Through painting, sculpture, print-making and drawing, students will learn about materials, use of colour and different contemporary styles and artists.

The program is structured to introduce new and different ways in which students can express themselves visually. “It is important for children to learn how to visualize. It will serve them well, in hopes of creating the vision they aspire to eventually become,” says Gour.

The fall session begins in October, at a Bowness location to be confirmed. Classes will be offered Tuesdays at 4:30– 6 p.m. and Thursdays at 5:30–7 p.m. The cost is $149.25 for a six-week program, including supplies.
