The Ripples Grant has provided many Bowness residents with the opportunity to fund projects throughout the community. Some of the projects that have received funding through Ripples are:

Leaf & Lyre Urban Farms and Bowest Motors secured a Ripples grant to create a community space around the 7479 bus stop. The project includes a four-foot bench for people to sit on while waiting for the bus. Above the bench is a simple gazebo structure to offer shade and to make it visible to the neighbourhood. Behind the bench is a raised garden bed to grow fresh local produce. The bed will be constructed with a “wicking bed” design, which holds water in a bladder beneath the soil. This will allow less watering and a more natural process for the plants. A garbage can attached to the bed will help control litter.
